A massive 55-storey hotel, which will dwarf a surrounding development of residential towers and other nearby hotels, is being built in Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR). The new Meydan Hotel, which will be managed by Malta-based European hotel group Corinthia, will have 300 lavish rooms and an array of restaurants. It will have a huge stepped podium wrapping around luxury landscaped swimming pools and gardens leading down to a private beach. The complex will also include 60 high-end serviced apartments and a number of water villas which, like the hotel rooms, will have expansive views of the Arabian Sea, Palm Jumeirah and Bluewaters Island.
