Etihad-backed Jet Airways increases capacity to Dubai

Jet Airways is set to increase its capacity to Dubai by deploying the wide body Boeing 777 aircraft on its Mumbai route. Jet Airways’ latest expansion plans includes the Boeing 777 to be used on routes to Dubai, Singapore and Amsterdam, according to reports in Indian media. One of Jet Airways five daily flights from Mumbai to Dubai, currently operated by a 168-seat twin-class Boeing 737 aircraft, will be replaced by Boeing 777 from August 6 next. Similarly, one of the twice-daily flights from Mumbai to Singapore will be upgraded from a 737 to a 777. In October, the remaining 777 aircraft will be put into service to Amsterdam on Jet Airways’ services from Mumbai and Dehli, replacing the current Airbus A330 planes.
