Hundreds of exotic Arabian greyhounds are set to compete in the ninth Saluki Championship in the AlMarmoum area of Dubai on 6 March from 2pm. The event, which is organised and supervised by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centre (HHC), is widely regarded as the most lucrative and prestigious pastime among all traditional pursuits. Salukis are one of the oldest known breeds of domesticated dogs in the world, and the Saluki Championship is highly regarded among Arabs.
