Dubai Business Events hosts Americas Study Mission

Continuing to build on the success of the study missions held in the first quarter of the year, Dubai Business Events welcomed 65 guests from North and South America to Dubai to experience the city’s business event destination offering. From April 29 – May 2, 50 meeting and incentive planners and an additional 15 of the Americas leading travel media were hosted in Dubai. The Americas remain a strong market for visitors to the city. Dubai Tourism recently released its Q1 numbers, and from the Americas, the USA was in the top 10 source markets accounting for 166,000 visitors during the first three months of 2016. 

A tailored itinerary that covered incentive, meeting and conference options as well as leisure was developed for the three day study mission. The itinerary included a number of the city’s leading attractions, such as a desert safari, a visit to the Sheikh Mohammed Center for Cultural Understanding and a series of venue visits including Madinat Jumeriah, Burj Al Arab and the St. Regis. 

John Crowe from Metracon Travel Group Inc. attended the trip and said: “I was very impressed with everyone involved in the program and how they could relate everything that we experienced directly to our business. This was a very well planned and executed mission. Congrats to everyone involved. I learned a ton and have new relationships with great people.”

Over the course of the year, Dubai Business Events plans to host over 800 international meeting, incentive and conference planners as well as media delegates from its leading markets in a series of study missions, as it continues to build towards Dubai’s ambitious target of welcoming 20 million visitors per year to the city by 2020.
