The world’s largest theme park opens in Dubai
Dubai not only boasts the world’s tallest building, world’s largest indoor aquarium and ski slope but now it can also say it is home to the world’s largest theme park to the list. IMG Worlds of Adventure opened on August 31st, a whopping 1.5 million square feet that is home to 22 rides and attractions. The park features global brands including: Cartoon Network and MARVEL in one location, in addition to the Lost Valley – Dinosaur Adventure.

Dubai Opera brings more culture to the emirate
The 2,000-seat Dubai Opera welcomed its first guests on August 31st, with a sold-out performance by Spanish tenor and opera icon Plácido Domingo. The dhow-shaped, glass-and-steel opera house, located in the innovative Dubai Opera District near the Burj Khalifa, has an exciting line-up over the coming months including more operas, ballets, concerts, musicals and a magic show.

Dubai Airport sees traffic of 40.5m during first half of 2016
Dubai International’s (DXB) passenger traffic reached a record 40.5 million passengers in the first half of 2016, a 5.8 percent increase from the same period last year- according to the traffic report issued in August by operator Dubai Airports. Having already overtaken London’s Heathrow Airport as the world’s busiest airport last year, DXB shows no signs of slowing down its passenger potential.
Dubai Historical District undergoes transformation
Located in the heart of old Dubai, the Dubai Historical District will take visitors on a journey through Dubai’s past and the traditions the city holds dear. The Dubai Historical District is now conducting heritage tour programmes of the historical area of Dubai Creek by trained Emirati tour guides.
