Sheikh Zayed Road

The Jewel in the Crown

Also known as DWTC, the Dubai World Trade Centre is a bustling hub dedicated to event hosting. The purpose-built complex is the city's oldest convention destinations and is home to its first skyscrapers, featuring on the AED100 bank note.

The DWTC is made-up of 21 exhibition halls, and more than 40 meeting rooms, totalling over 121,000 square metres of usable space.

Access to the district is simple, with the Dubai Metro dedicating a stop directly to the venue, with trains running until midnight every night. Four on-site hotels – Ibis One Central, Ibis World Trade Centre, Novotel World Trade Centre, and The Apartments – are all within easy walking distance of the event spaces. If you prefer something a little more swish, The Four Seasons DIFC is located a short taxi ride, or metro stop, down the road in Dubai International Financial District. The DWTC complex includes a pedestrian mall of casual dining outlets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with pop-up take-away dining available in the exhibition halls during the majority of events.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel

Impressive Views of Dubai’s Top Landmarks

The unique wave-shaped hotel is a popular choice for event organisers thanks to its slick, state-of the art convention spaces, and its proximity to Dubai's best beaches and notable landmarks. The iconic Burj Al Arab is metres away, and New Dubai, the Marina, and Mall of the Emirates are all a short drive from the hotel entrance.

Complimentary, hi-speed internet is available throughout the hotel's spaces – even down at the beach – with an equally switched-on staff happy to run last minute missions and favours. The hotel offers 20% off food and beverages for exhibition attendees, including 360, the rooftop bar with views of the Gulf, and Jamie's Italian, the international family-friendly favourite.

Parking can be slow at peak times, so arrive early if you wish to valet, or take a taxi. Self-parking is not recommended.

Dubai World Central

Dubai Airshow Site

Dubai World Central

Taking your event to new heights

One of the city's newer conference spaces, Dubai Airshow Site at Dubai World Central (also known as Dubai South) is poised to become the region's largest exhibition space. Home to the biennial Dubai Airshow, and the World Expo 2020, the three-million square metre site is being further developed to host the city's major events, including the Dubai Airshow in November 2017.

International visitors would benefit from booking their arriving flight directly to Al Maktoum International Airport, instead of the busier Dubai International Airport, to save time in the arrivals halls as well as an hour travelling across town. An international gateway development, Al Maktoum is projected to replace the city's current airport district by 2022.

Located on the Jebel Ali end of the city, accommodation and dining are currently scarce while construction is still ongoing. Nearby Ibn Battuta Mall and Riverland at Dubai Parks and Resorts hold the best options for casual dining, while Dubai Marina is ideal for fine dining and socialising.

Majestic Venues & Impeccable Service

Home to Dubai's largest hotel conference space, the Madinat Jumeirah Conference and Events Centre is accustomed to catering for large group sizes with aplomb, whether you're situated in one of the large ballrooms, the 4,500 person Madinat Arena Conference Centre, or the newly extended Fort Island, an indoors/outdoors venue bordered by water.

Organisers can utilise the Jumeirah's easy-to-use online Virtual Planner website to preview their event's floor plans, schedule, and other details. Facilities including washrooms, catered business lounges and the public lobby areas are all well-appointed and tailored to a well-heeled clientele.

Checking into the one of the five-star hotels within walking distance of the Madinat Jumeirah complex – Jumeirah Al Naseem, Jumeirah Al Qasr, Jumeirah Mina A'Salam or Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf – is the most convenient option, with the resort complex known for its luxurious suites, private beaches, and stunning waterways. However, being a central location, there are other hotels nearby to cover all budgets including Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, Holiday Inn Al Barsha and, of course, the seven-star Burj Al Arab. With a prime location in the Madinat Jumeriah, there's a solid range of dining options, with fine dining, cafe-style, pub grub, and take-away all represented, as well as fashion, homewares and souvenir shopfronts.

Due to the centre sharing a complimentary valet and car-park with Souk visitors, parking can be sparse for heavily attended events, with booking a taxi recommended if you're not already checked in at one of the four Madinat hotels.

Located less than ten minutes from Dubai International Airport, the five-star site is popular and easy to find, bordering the Dubai Creek and the chic Wafi Mall. Festival Arena by InterContinental

Dubai Festival City

Festival Arena by InterContinental

Dubai Festival City

Creek-side style

Part of a new expansion by the InterContinental Dubai Festival City, the City Arena is an expansive space, purpose-built for large scale exhibitions, performances and concerts. With the ability to host up to 5,000 people, it's a popular choice for global industry conferences and trade shows.

Located on the Old Dubai side of Dubai Creek, the arena is removed from the city’s busiest areas, but dining options remain plentiful – most notably at the nearby InterContinental Hotel and Festival City Mall, with take-away restaurants on-site and casual, walk-in eateries in surrounding streets.

The InterContinental Dubai Festival City is the dominant and most convenient hotel for event attendees, although there are several budget motels in the area. For longer stays or family groups, the InterContinental Residence Suites offer serviced studios, four-bedroom apartments, and everything in between.

Plan on renting a car or taking a taxi – while parking is plentiful, there's no public transport directly connecting the site to the rest of Dubai.
