Student training

We conduct student training sessions twice a year – one in summer and one in winter – to encourage school and university students interested in a career in the local tourism industry.
The four-week course provides a comprehensive overview of Dubai’s tourism sector, its varied and interesting job options, site visits in premier destinations or attractions in the city, and an insight into the skills required to take this knowledge and deliver it as part of the city’s superlative visitor experience.

Volunteering in tourism

As part of our initiative to introduce UAE nationals to the tourism industry, we have created the ‘Medyaf Volunteering Programme’. This gives Emiratis the chance to take part in events and festivals managed by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) or by our tourism industry partners. The programme gives UAE nationals a great opportunity to support the community while developing important social skills and competencies necessary to deliver Dubai’s world-class visitor experience.
