What is the Futurism Programme 2019?

The Futurism Programme is a six-week, zero equity, accelerator programme in Dubai for the travel and tourism industry.

What is the programme's aim?

In line with the Dubai 10X initiative, the Futurism Programme hopes to transform the tourism experience in Dubai. Collaborating with the startup community, the aim is to imagine, design and create the future of travel and tourism, and position Dubai as the leading destination.

Who is eligible to apply for the Futurism Programme 2019?

You are eligible to apply if you have an innovative tech solution in the travel and tourism space and your business is a growth stage startup. Click here for a full list of eligibility criteria.

How can start ups apply?

Click here to apply to the programme. Applications are open till 9 AM (GMT+4) August 5, 2019.

What does the selection process involve?

All completed applications received before July 24 will be screened and a shortlisted number of applicants will be invited for one interview round that will take place in August with leading tourism industry partners. Ten finalists will be selected to participate in the six-week accelerator programme in Dubai which will culminate at GITEX Future Stars.

If I get shortlisted, do I have to be physically present in Dubai for the interview stage?

It is not mandatory to be physically present in Dubai for the interview. You have an option to either present in-person or remotely.

Who is going to mentor me?

If shortlisted, you will be mentored exclusively by top executives of leading companies from the tourism industry as well as main players from the startup ecosystem. Click here to view our partners.

What is the prize?

Ten selected finalists will participate in a six-week accelerator programme to work closely with the tourism industry in Dubai. In the last week of the programme, each finalist will showcase at premium GITEX exhibition space and pitch to a selected jury, with winners receiving a cash prize.

How many team members need to be present in Dubai for the accelerator programme?

A commitment from one or two senior team members (Co-Founder/CTO) would need to be present in Dubai for six weeks.

Who will cover costs for the programme?

Once shortlisted, you can attend the accelerator programme for free. However, you will be need to cover all costs related to travel, accommodation, transport and visas, as well as make your own arrangements for the duration of your stay in Dubai.
