Annie Féolde was born into a French family who appreciated how important good food and drink was to the concept of a happy life. Her grandparents were hotel owners on Côte d'Azur before World War II and her parents followed in their footsteps. So, it was from a young age that Annie learnt the art of gourmet and hospitality. Her lifelong dream was to travel and take care of people’s needs.
Initially, she opted to go down a different route which led her to England for a year before moving to Italy to improve the two languages that she’d studied in school. In Florence, she met her husband Giorgio Pinchiorri who was on the verge of success with his intricate knowledge of drinks. They teamed up and in 1979, bought a place which they transformed into a restaurant which went on to win three Michelin stars. During this time, Annie sought to learn all about cooking, deriving inspirations from both French and Italian cuisines. They also opened a restaurant in Tokyo serving authentic Italian cuisine and in 1983, became members of Relais & Chàteaux Association and Les Grandes Tables du Monde.
Their latest venture, The Artisan by Enoteca Pinchiorri, is a welcome addition to Dubai’s gourmet scene where the Italian way of cooking is celebrated.
