Geoffrey Zakarian is an American chef, restaurateur, TV personality and author with a career in the culinary arts spanning 30 years. He’s renowned for his sophisticated tastes and signature style and has travelled the world for inspiration to blend his classical training and techniques in order to create top notch hospitality experiences. Fashion, design, media and the arts are also sources of inspiration for him.
His rise to culinary prominence began at Le Cirque, where he worked his way up from Pastry Sous to Chef de Cuisine under Chef Alain Sailhac. By 1997, Geoffrey was Executive Chef of Patroon and in 2001, he opened his first restaurant, Town. His second restaurant, Country, earned him a Michelin star. In the years to follow, he’d established himself as an accomplished chef and restaurateur and author. His debut book, Geoffrey Zakarian’s Town/Country, was published in 2006 and his second cookbook, My Perfect Pantry: 150 Easy Recipes from 50 Essential Ingredients hit the shelves in 2014. He’s also launched Pro For Home, a food storage container system, on the Home Shopping Network.
A prolific TV personality, Geoffrey appears as the judge on Food Network’s Chopped and is currently the co-host of Food Network’s The Kitchen. He hosts and has appeared on several shows, some of which as Cooks vs. Cons, ABC’s The Chew and The Rachael Ray Show.
