Hanoi Naturally

Jumeirah Lakes Towers

For a genuine taste of Vietnam

Inexpensive and unpretentious, Hanoi Naturally does an excellent job of bringing bona fide Vietnamese dining to Dubai. The lakeside restaurant in JLT uses healthy cooking techniques and fresh ingredients that are locally grown, where possible. It is known for its selection of pho – a traditional broth cooked for 10 hours with beef bones, grilled onion, ginger and spices. Among the other nutritious delights are the dau rau cu ham dua (tofu and root vegetables simmered in coconut milk) and the banh xeo (rice flour crepe with shrimp and chicken, or tofu).

Guilt-free eating

This little cafe knows a lot about clean eating. The team matches the menu to their passion for organic ingredients, featuring section upon section of raw foods that stick to their natural roots. At Healthy Little Secrets, you don’t have to forego flavour for fitness or vice versa. If you’re craving something sweet, their Raw Carrot Cake is a salad of natural sugars made from fresh carrots, local dates, organic coconut, nutmeg, cinnamon and more, and topped off with thick Madagascar vanilla cream. It pairs fabulously with their top quality organic coffee. Much of Dubai can vouch for this quaint, rustic spot considering it’s in the running for DFF’s Hidden Gems.

Your home away from home

Like its name, Baker Street Cafe is a cosy spot inspired by the whimsy of a neighbourhood cafe in London. The corner-store cafe serves classic European and English dishes, homestyle sandwiches and an array of fresh salads. Even their muesli-blended super smoothies offer a liquid alternative jam-packed with nutrients. You’ll find plenty of classic English offerings too, but they balance it all out using fresh ingredients that are light on the stomach, so you won’t feel lethargic afterwards.
