  • Decent value for money, but several issues that were not resolved
I stayed at Reflections Hotel for 26 nights and for the most part, I enjoyed my stay. The rooms are large enough and while they already show some signs of old age, housekeeping generally did a decent job keeping them clean. The staff was generally friendly and made an effort to be helpful (although they couldn't resolve many of the issues). I appreciated the unique design and first stayed in a 'New York style' room on the 10th floor, then in a 'Tokyo style' room on the 11th floor. However, there were several issues that are worth mentioning. - after six days at the hotel, the air conditioning broke down in the middle of the night. Apparently this was an issue on the entire 10th floor. It was not repaired by the next evening, so I had no choice but to switch rooms. I was offered a choice between a 'Paris style' and a 'Tokyo style', I chose the latter - in both rooms, I faced the issue that the windows would not close completely. It seems they are too small for the frame. When I tried to slide the left window pane shut, there was a crack between the right pane and the frame. Vice versa, sliding the right pane shut, a crack opened between the left pane and the frame. The a/c did a good enough job keeping the room cool despite this, but noise levels were fairly high, especially considering the ongoing construction in the neighborhood and nearby road - in both rooms, the refrigerator stayed fairly warm and did not cool down the items inside sufficiently - housekeeping often forgot to replace the toilet paper - Contrary to the claims on the hotel's website, valet parking is not available. Also, I was not informed that the garage would close during Ramadan because they placed the Iftar tent in the driveway to the garage. Since the outdoor parking lot is not paved, my car got quite dirty/sandy and I had to have it cleaned every second day - I paid for a room including breakfast. I was not informed in advance that breakfast would not be served during Ramadan. I fully understand and respect that it is local custom to fast. However, there was an additional charge for the Suhoor offer and I paid the full price for breakfast even on the days when it was not available - when I checked out, the credit card reader did not work. I had no other choice than to drive to the next ATM to withdraw cash so I could pay for the Tourism Fee Management inquired about my stay via email and I brought all these issues to their attention (during my stay already). Unfortunately, I never received a response.
  • big mistake
I booked this hotel for 2 nights right on the check in the staff told the only available room was twin bed not single as I requested the guy was so rude with me and when I asked him to help me finding a solution he told me to cancel my booking which is not refundable!! anyways the room was so small, the bed sheets smells like sweat, the bathtub was rusty, and the parking entrance was sandy I could not get my car in so I had to park on the rode side
  • Good hotel for average/normal tourists
I stayed in the hotel for 7 nights (11-18 May 2017), room 701 at floor 7th and as Easter-European tourists with my mother, we had a nice time. Don't take in serious all the bad opinions mentioned below. The area of the hotel is under construction (and most of Dubai) because they are developing the environment. It is tolerable, not so noisy. Every guest should just communicate with all the staff if you have any requirement or need help; don't forget to ask if you have doubts. The guest relation lady, Pamela is super friendly and helpful. Note: don't accept always the taxi calling because there is a free hotel bus; check at reception if it is available. Also there is public transport: bus nr.: C04 which stops in every 20 min. in front of the hotel. The restaurant is very expensive, we preferred to order online or just buy from supermarkets. The towels are everyday changed, washed and sterilized even if it has small stains- most of the towels are snow-white clean and if you ask, the room service changes for you. P.S.: communication, respect, kindness and some tipping is the key to the well being :)
