    So happy we have a vacation for two weeks!!! We were choosing during long time but finally decided to stay in Sofitel the Palm. Let us share some impressions from the first two days been in Sofitel Dubai the Palm luxury apartments, which may be useful for some of You. 1) When we were checking in at the hotel at 1:30 am at night we found that the beds were covered with very thick and soft mattresses and for us and kids were very uncomfortable for sleep. 2) We called housekeeping and we had to wait 20-25 min till housekeeping came. 3) Everybody specially was tired and kids wanted to sleep so it was not very pleasant. 4) And the worst that we found - the room carpet was dusty and the floor under the table was very dirty. 5) There was an insect in the bathroom but we were too tired to explain everything to housekeeping staff, so we went to sleep. 6) Next day I called Guest relation manager Sarah Laurent and told tell her about the first night experience. 7) She attentively listened and deeply promised us to fix all the issues. � To tell the truth we had a strong feeling we need to change the hotel, and forget the Sofitel brand for the rest of our life, but Sara did made us stay and we left the room for a general cleaning with very small hope. 9) Cleaning took 2,5 hours, during this time we were at Kid’s Club, and having dinner in Chinese restaurant which was very nice and not too expensive. 10) the manager in charge in Chinese restaurant Christine was very very sweet, the food was same as it is in China, I travel a lot to China and can compare with the best restaurant in Beijing ang Guangzhou. 11) When we came back to our room we saw shining floor, super clean tables, everything was perfect and too clean, our clothes were neatly folded as well. And the dirty dishes in kitchen was done as well... 12) Sara did keep her promise and Leo, our youngest son (20 months) got a new huge wooden cod where he can comfortably sleep. 13) There was a big fruit plate on the table. And some chocolate. 14) Mr Edward Hillary, the Housekeeping Manager was waiting for us at the door. He deeply apologized for inconvenience and asked us to look and double check if everything was ok. 15) The room was perfect and the cleaning was excellent. 16) Later Sara came to visit us and also apologized for the inconvenience during first night. 17) Then me and Sara had a cup of puer Chinese tea on the huge balcony of our apartments where we have a great view of the Gulf and the Palm. 17) Sara offered us one day free breakfast for the whole family and one complimentary Spa treatment for my wife. 18) It was very kind of her and we accepted it with compliment. 19) Sara asked if we were satisfied with the hotel and if there are any questions she said we could call her directly. And she said, “Merci beaucoup! Mr. Markin. Please allow me now to say welcome to Sofitel The Palm!” 20) In additional I want to say that we liked Sara’s and her negotiations skills, her professionalism and friendly attitude. 21) Finally we had nice feelings, enjoyed good view and nice weather. 22) But most importantly our kids laughed and were happy to walk on the beach and play with the sand 23) on the second day dinner we went to the Italian restaurant “The world eatery”. 24) the staff were very polite and friendly, very nice atmosphere, but almost all the food was little bit over salty, kids could not eat 25) after we mention it to the restaurant manager, they cooked and brought new food for the kids within 6-8 minutes! 26) in general the restaurant “The world eatery” was quite nice and comfortable for us, sure will come back again 27) So it was our second day in this resort, and I wlll keep update the impressions of our stay in Sofitel Dubai the Palm...

  • Lovely 2 bedroom sea view apartment
    Lovely to have a 2 bedroom spacious apartment so that everyone could stay together rather than two separate rooms. Everything was lovely just let down by the sofa which was a bit scruffy. I did call someone and they came and vacuumed it but it was very stained underneath. Apart from that very lovely, very good service. Not as personal as some other Dubai hotels but you know it is a big hotel before you go!

    It is a good resort. The location is not very close to the city and if you choose to go there you should plan to stay in the resort and enjoy the amenities and hotel services. The cleaning of the rooms was not the best one I've seen but the service is good. We stayed in the apartments and they offer parking under the building only if you stay more than 21 nights. They do offer buggy service to and from main reception and there is a free parking but it is not very convenient. The apartments are spacious and good but there is a big waste of space in the bathroom with a huge tub in the center which could have been utilized much better in my opinion.
