  • Great price, great stay
Stayed here for one night as a friend and I were just passing through. For the price, the quality of the hotel was exceptional. They had cheaper rooms, as well as, more luxurious suites. There is a moonlight tent with drinks and shisha on the top floor, with a spectacular view of the Burj. The pool is a little small, but does the trick to beat the heat. There is also a night club on the 46th floor. We were going to end our night there, but a 200 AED cover did not seem worth it. There is also a small sports bar on the mezz floor. There are many food spots within walking distance, and the mall is a short drive away. Overall great stay, especially if you are not looking to spend all of your money for a place downtown.
  • Weekend Break in Dubai
We stayed as a couple for three nights in the hotel and all in all had a good stay: Positives: - great location for Dubai Mall, Burj, Mall of Emirates etc. - walking distance to coffee shops, cafes and metro station. - large rooms, clean and we had a nice view of the Burj. - tasty food and two free drinks for ladies on a Wednesday at the sports bar. - Excellent spa services- would reccomend the facial! Negatives: - Pool is small and not that luxurious and the pool toilet was absolutley disgusting. - Prices of drinks by the pool is ridiculous. $8 for a can of Sprite! - Elevators are so slow- everytime calling one was at least a 10min wait, very annoying. - 15 mins waiting for our luggage from the luggage room. - disspaointing bath tub compared to size in other Dubi hotels. This hotel is great if you are planning on shopping, sight seeing and using it as a base. If you are looking for luxury and relaxation it is probbaly not the hotel for you. Great location and we would stay again if we have another busy Dubai weekend planned.
  • Nice hotel, but left a bad taste
My partner and I stayed at the Carlton Downtown hotel for 3 nights. First, the positives: - Large rooms; - Comfortable rooms; - Great location; - Most staff were friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately, these positives were offset by some underwhelming elements including: - When attempting to use the concierge to book a brunch at another hotel they informed us that the brunch was booked out and we could have brunch at the hotel. We later found out this brunch was NOT booked out. Luckily we didn't stay and have brunch in the Carlton. - I went to purchase a can of sprite (250ml) from the cafe downstairs and was told the price was (circa) 25 AED. I was outraged at having to pay approximately 8USD for a small can of sprite, so went around the corner to the local store and bough 4 cans for 8 AED. - On the last night we went upstairs for the "happy hour". We had two beers each at happy hour prices for a total of (circa) 150AED (50 USD). This does not compare to other prices elsewhere. - Room was cleaned very poorly one of the three days. While the hotel was nice, the above experiences will mean I will not be staying at the hotel again. There is too much choice in Dubai, and too many good options, to stay at a place that tries to take advantage of its clientele like this.
