Fine Indian restaurant Ashiana is a favourite of Dubai's high-end scene. The kitchen is run by Michelin-star chef Vineet Bhatia, widely considered one of the Indian culinary world's brightest stars. His menu of contemporary Indian fare is pitch-perfect, blending familiar flavours in entirely unique ways. Every meal is truly finger-licking good.

Befitting divine dishes like the Junglee Tandoori — tandoori smoked guinea fowl served with slow-cooked black lentils and wok-tossed bok choy — the décor is also a work of art, with intricate wooden latticework screens, beautiful paintings, and hand-hammered chandeliers.

    This restaurant is located in the Sheraton Creek Hotel. Decided to visit as my family visiting from London want a good Indian dinner. The restaurant itself is nice and has a homely welcoming feeling. The dinning room is not large and probably seats around 50-60 people. At the far Wall was an area for musicians, which we where told play every night from around 8pm. We were welcomed and greater in a warm friendly manner and shown to our table, as we where early most tables where free and given a choice. Our waiter welcomed us also, and offered his help and recommendations on the menu is we needed it. As we are of Indian, and my family knows what they wanted we ordered from the menu ourselves. For the drinks I did ask for a recommendation for the wine and the wine recommendation a white sauvignon Blanca was very nice. The food, firstly we were presented with a complimentary pre starter from the chef or a rolled mini roll made of jelly chickpea flour filled with coconut and spices present on a nicely desolated plate, was a very nice dish to start with. For main dishes we ordered a butter chicken, Dal and a vegetable curry. All very nice and similar to what you would find in a family run good Indian in the UK. Very well cooked and not overly spicy but with lots of flavor. The vegetable dish was not what we expected, and did mention this to the waiter who kindly offer to change for another dish, which he did, the new dish a spinach curry came out after a short wait was very nice. The service thoughtful was very attentive and helpful. At 8pm the musician did arrive and started to place some Indian music, which was not so loud that we could not enjoy conversation, there was also a singer who welcomed requests, which my family made and was accommodated, very nice touch. We actually stayed a little longer to listen to the singer after our meal was done. I would happily return to this restaurant when entertaining friends and family.

    Ambience of the restaurant is splendid. Staff were hospitable and courteous. Food was excellent and had a great indian flair . Price was in tandem with the estimable hotel. Overall a great experience. Must visit
