  • Poor Service
I have stayed at the Zabeel Saray before but never tried Lalezar. The concierge said it was a very popular restaurant and it always seemed busy so my wife and two kids booked to dine their for dinner. On arrival we were greeted by no one, other restaurants within the Zabeel have a front of house but as we stepped in we were happen to catch a waiter who asked where we would like to sit. They were very accommodating and moved chairs around for my son so he can have his high chair next to the balcony overlooking the mini fountain. Within minutes we had flagged down the waiter to give our son’s order as he was taking asleep, shortly after he did so we cancelled but asked him to bring some warm milk for my son and some hummus and bread. We must have waited around 25 minutes for the hummus and bread and around 35 minutes for my sons warm milk which within that time he had woken and wanted dessert so instead of bringing the milk ASAP they bought it along with his dessert. Our food was very nice, no complains whatsoever however no waiter came back to ask if everything was ok as normal restraints do. The place was not busy at all, in fact there were more then enough staff. We were ready to order dessert and there was no waiters to be seen and when we did and I tried several times Flat one down try simply did not acknowledge, this went on for around 25 minutes to the point we got up and walked out. On the way to the exit we were stopped by our waiter who did not ask why we had got up or if we want dessert but to say “I will bring your bill”. Even this took long so we left and I told Management about what happened and they told me that I am not to pay for the drinks and the dessert I had to buy at the Sultan Lounge because of the no show waiters. Overall my opinion of Lalezar is that the food is very nice but the service is awful. A restaurant operating in a 5/6 star hotel should be flawless but it seems as the slowness and lack of service is something that this restaurant has come to understand. I would not return here at all.

  • Wow
This is the first time my husband and I have dined here and our experience was excellent. We are on the half board so that entitles us to a starter, main and dessert from the menu. Most things on the menu are included but others include a supplement charge. The supplemented food was a couple of mezzes which looks an incredible amount of food so we just stuck to one each. We had the sausage and cold selection for starter, the chicken kebab and lamb/beef kebab for main and the baklava and Katmer (Katmar? I cant remember how to spell it!). Anyway the starters were delightful. My cold selection consisted of a plethora of dips which were refreshing and tasty. I particularly enjoyed the beetroot one, even my husband liked that and he hates beetroot! The mains were as described, kebabs that were nice and tasty with delicious bread to accompany. The best part was the desserts. They come with Turkish ice cream which is described on the menu in a slightly off putting way. Don't be put off! It's delicious. It's like once cream but just doesn't melt as quickly. It's not really what I'd call "chewy" as it's described, it's just delicious. The baklava and the katmer were something I'd come back for, there's no other explanation except they were incredibly enjoyable. They definitely ruined our two mouthfuls policy when it comes to desserts! The service however could have been a little quicker, especially at bill time and I did see a lady making a complaint on the table behind me so I'm sure it's not always perfect but for us it was heaven. Would definitely recommend.
