Samosas and bhajis take a back seat to such modern delights as tandoori wasabi lobster, basil pepper hammour tikka, honey mustard chicken, chat puffs or paneer tikka with asparagus fritters and avocado mousse.   • Superb Fine Dine
    Thinking about Indian fine dine? Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor is the answer. From fantastic dim lit interiors to stunning desserts, they were perfect. Once seated, the tasting menu was a journey through Signature Sanjeev Kapoor dishes and stories about how the dishes were created was explained in good detail. Very tough to pick favorites but the Dum Nariyali Prawns, Rogan E Nalli(pictured here), Dilli Murg Makhni in Mains and of course the Rasmalai Snow in desserts was fantastic. Even the pani puri was very different from the usual and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were 2 different type of palate cleansers which were given in between courses so our taste buds were ready and tingling. Another must try item here is the mixed platter which includes different meats of which the lamb chops were excellent. It was a wonderful experience here overall and is an excellent place to celebrate important occasions or you want to have a dine in experience with a difference.

    Nostalgia, memories and food have a deeper connection in our subconscious mind. I have a good memory (Alhamdullilah) so fragrances, aromas and tastes play a Time Machine role and take me back to people, places or moments. . If someone is wearing the perfumes Abbu used to wear I got emotional when someone cooks like my Mom my heart pains. It’s tough to live in memories sometimes. . But, this post is a happy memory of me & my brother, we have a same common passion, food 😝 🥘 both eating and cooking and we used to watch cooking shows on DishAntena in 90s & our favorite show used to be #KhanaKhazana by #SanjeevKapoor on #ZeeTV then we used to try his simple and unique recipes. Learnt a lot from #ChefSanjeevKapoor . His smiling face used to spread positivity in our amateur cooking. Never thought that one day I ll eat in his restaurant as a special guest. In #Dubai #ChefPraveen runs his kitchen so well and serves with love and dedication. You may taste the world’s best #LambChops in @signaturebysanjeevkapoordxb It is located in @canvashoteldubai .     Housed within the Canvas Hotel in Bur Dubai, Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor offers traditional Indian dishes treated to a celebrity chef makeover.The restaurant is decorated with minimalist restraint and fine detailing. The dining area consists of indoors as well as outdoor seating which is apt for the ones who hookah smoke. They offer an intimate dining room as well which includes live cooking station and is available for private functions with prior reservations only. Offering a wide variety of dishes, guests can enjoy an al-fresco dining experience in a stunning atmosphere! This was my first visit here and I was stunned at the hospitality, ambience and the delicious food! To start with, we were served with pappadam which came along with 6 chutneys: mint & coriander, tomato and onion, onion infused with beetroot and vinegar, pickle and fruit chutney. Some of these were new for me and had a very unique twist! For drinks, we tried their signature mocktail which were mango and passion fruit based. The drink was refreshing and had a balanced taste of both the fruits and was not too sweet. A must try on your visit here. Before we get on to the first course of our meal, we were served with palate cleanser to remove any food residue from the tongue and more accurately assess a new flavor – this included a mint & mango shooter, a popsicle and beetroot papdi chaat. As much as these sound very unique – they tasted really good and were a good start before we begin the meal. Mirchi Khumb: A melody of baby pimiento and mushrooms – an absolutely sumptuous starter with the best combination of spices and the perfect blend of two veggies. A must have for all mushroom lovers! Chenne Ke Parchey: Who doesn’t like a well-cooked a fresh paneer starter! Made by their in-house paneer, this starter just raised the level for all paneer starters! This was a charcoal roasted malai paneer with methi thepla crumble corn. I can’t get enough of this one….! Tandoori Broccoli: If you’re a broccoli lover / eater, do not miss on this simple yet delicious tandoori broccoli. I liked the fact that it was mildly spiced and had just the perfect taste! Moving on to the mains, we tried their signature dishes: Lalla Mussa Dal: Words can’t describe enough how DELICIOUS this dal was! Hands down – the best dal I’ve had in DXB so far! This one was a version of Dal Makhani – a slow cooked creamy black lentil stew (a must must try on your visit here) Paneer Pudina Khaas: This was a mint stuffed cottage cheese based main cooked in a red pepper makhani – an absolute mouthwatering and delightful main. Saag-E-Basmati: A traditional dish of himalayan mustard tempered fresh spinach puree and basmati rice cooked together. This was served along with milet bread, gur and ghee. This ones definitely to make you miss your home and bring back all nostalgia! Signature Veggie Pot: A healthy take of brown rice dum cooked with veggies and spices. WORTH A TRY! This finally got us to the final and BEST part of the meal, THE DESSERTS! We were served with a dessert platter which included Rasmalai, Carrot Halwa and Baked Yoghurt. A platter with the best Indian desserts! I couldn’t select a favorite from these three – neither could I stop myself from stuffing the dessert – it was extremely delectable and yummy! The place is absolutely worth a visit especially if you’re celebrating a big day – it could be the perfect place to be at. I wish I’d have discovered the place long back! Well, never too late I guess
