Enjoy A Feast At Sukhothai
Inspired by the Thai Sukhothai period (1238 to 1438), this restaurant exudes warmth with a traditional wooden interior and notably friendly team of staff. Start with a classic Thai appetizer, such as Satay Gai Rue Nuea or Thod Man Pla (deep-fried King Fish Cake). Follow with a soup, or delve straight in for mains, which include Pla Nueng Manao (deep fried Sea Breem) or curries such as Gaeng Phed Ped Yang (red duck curry).

Part of Le meridien Dubai, Sukhothai serves average Thai cuisine. Nestled between Mahec, the Indian restaurant and Jules, the bar, it is a cul-de-sac of bar and restaurants with many other restaurants and eateries including the warehouse. Though part of Le-meridien, it is a 50 mtr walk from the main hotel or you may get there through a seperate entrance. We chose to sit outside beside the walk way around the eateries. The hostess was nice enough to get us Hoegaarden from Jules though they do not serve it at the restaurant. We ate duck salad and the steamed seabream. For dessert, it was banana fritters and vanilla ice cream. We were given many helpings of prawn crackers on the house. But the food was mediocre and not expensive for a five star set up. Considering the service, I would go again to give it a try for some other dishes from the menu.

  • Incredibly delicious dinner!
We were staying overnight in the hotel with an Emirates connection, and chose the Thai restaurant for dinner. The place is lovely, with Thai décor and even a Thai dancer. We had very nice service from Hazel, and our meal was fantastic! We started with the Pomelo salad (delicious and fresh!), and prawn on lemongrass sticks, and then had the chicken with cashews and veg, striploin beef with veg, traditional pad thai, and mixed veg dishes. We shared all the dishes, which was a nice way to try everything. All really excellent! We look forward to going back next time we’re in Dubai.
