Eat, swim and repeat

Can't decide between a lazy lunch or a beach day? Experience both at one of Dubai’s iconic pools and beach clubs. Nab a sun-lounger at one of Dubai's many swim and dine-friendly venues, and order your favourites.

Burj Al Arab Terrace and Scape

Specially-designed and affixed to the side of the seven-star hotel, the Burj Al Arab Terrace was never going to be anything short of spectacular. As exclusive as the hotel itself, the expanse of ocean-grazing infinity pools, swim-up counters and sun loungers are reserved for hotel guests and VIP members. While the 32 luxury beach cabanas are each stocked with a full mini-bar, fresh fruits and gourmet coffee, it's the California-cool menu from the adjacent Scape restaurant that will tempt you to order your meal directly to your lounger.

Nikki Beach

One of Dubai's hottest places to see and be seen in, Nikki Beach is a sun-seeker's dream come true. The Dubai outpost of the world-famous beach club sits beside the slick Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai and takes in uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf from its Pearl Jumeira location. The venue plays host to a roster of concerts, fashion shows and themed parties that are the talk of the town, while luxury facilities such as VIP cabanas, oversized leisure pools, and gourmet food menus amp up the relaxation factor.

Bliss 6

An entire floor of an open-air wet area high above the hustle of Sheikh Zayed Road, Bliss 6 manages to make the heart of Dubai's business centre feel like a sunny patch of the Mediterranean. Nestled among the lush greenery and timber decking, the azure-tiled pools tempt on a sunny Dubai winter day, but there's also a strong case for booking one of the bed-style cabanas, and stretching out with a good book and one of their grazing platters for a luxe lazy afternoon.

The Royal Pool and Beach

Stretching across the Palm Jumeirah's Crescent foreshore, and with the iconic seashell-pink Atlantis, The Palm looming in the background, the Royal Pool strikes a balance between a family-friendly destination and a relaxing spot for the unaccompanied grown-ups. The oversized five-star pool is perfect for a dip, with or without younger family members. Or take the kids down to the private beach, the nearby jungle gym or the lawn badminton court to totally tire them out before dinner at The Shore restaurant. We recommend the signature grilled tiger prawns.

Five Palm Jumeirah

One of the newer additions to The Palm’s luxury hotel scene, the Five Palm Jumeirah resort has been making waves, partially thanks to its incredibly long outdoor pool. Stretching from the hotel, through the impressive contemporary architectural arches, and down to the Gulf shoreline, it’s an eye-catching presence that will command guests’ attention from the moment they check-in. The pool has some seriously good vibes, with a live DJ, a hip crowd and a swim-up lounge. Families can make use of the children’s pool nearby, with interactive toys and water spouts to keep little ones entertained, while the pool cabanas catered to by roaming butlers and a sharing concept menu.

Luna Rooftop Pool

Perhaps one of the last places you'd expect to find a sun lounger, the financial centre's Four Seasons has squirreled away a glass-walled infinity pool on its seventh-floor rooftop, overlooking the towering Burj Khalifa. A well-kept secret, we've spotted business guests pop in for a swim in between meetings, along with the less strictly scheduled vacationers and locals enjoying a day off. Luna Sky will keep guests both fed and watered, in epic style.

Summersalt Beach Club

The signature beach club at Madinat Jumeirah is as luxurious has one would expect, featuring stunning views of the Burj Al Arab and private cabanas. With direct access to waters of the Arabian Gulf, you can spend your day catching some sun or floating in the calm ocean, all to a zen soundtrack courtesy of the beachside DJ. As the sun sets, take a table directly on the sands and enjoy a curated international menu, with best-sellers including crispy flatbreads, truffled octopus and the Summersalt Wagyu burger on a soft brioche.
