13 September, 2015
Dubai Parks and Resorts plans to send Emirati graduates to Orlando, Florida – the home of Disneyland and Sea World – to learn about the theme park industry. The theme park developer, which is building the vast Dubai Parks and Resorts project near Jebel Ali, is seeking to recruit more than 1,000 UAE nationals in the coming 12 months, as part of wider Emiratisation efforts across the country. It announced on Saturday the launch of an educational initiative called the Helmi Programme, which will offer ten graduates aged 25 and under scholarships to undertake a six-month course in ‘Theme Park Management’ at the University of Orlando, in Florida. Students will also receive practical experience of the theme park industry by undertaking work placements at several theme parks, including LEGOLAND® Florida.
