Scholarships and financial aid
Types of Scholarships
Below are the main types of scholarships recognised by KHDA:
• Academic excellence – Based on yearly academic attainment.
• Discount – Reduced tuition fees for siblings, children of staff, etc.
• Employer scholarship – Sponsored by a student's employer.
• Merit-based – Automatically renewable, based on annual academic performance.
• Need-based – Awarded based on financial need.
• Sponsorship from other organisations – Provided by entities other than the employer.

University-level financial support
Many institutions also offer discounts for early applicants, siblings or students progressing from undergraduate to postgraduate study at the same institution. Some provide flexible payment plans to help manage tuition fees.
Check directly with your chosen university for specific scholarship options and eligibility criteria.

Government-funded scholarships
Most UAE government scholarships are available to Emirati nationals. However, some foundations and international partnerships may offer limited funding to students from specific countries or backgrounds.
It is worth checking with your home country’s embassy in the UAE or contacting universities directly for country-specific support.
