Modern Indian culinary master Vineet Bhatia was the first Indian chef to receive a Michelin star. He first earned one star as head chef at London's Zaika restaurant. So, his debut in Dubai — a city that takes its Indian food seriously — was highly anticipated. Bhatia currently consults in two restaurants in the emirate: Indego by Vineet was his first. And he's in fine form here, serving a range of dishes that blend Indian flavours with European techniques.

His menu is made up of dishes like the Herb Chop, an herb-crusted lamb chop served with chutney upma (a south Indian thick porridge), goat's cheese samosa, baby carrot thoran (a chopped vegetable medley) and carrot foam.

    This restaurant is housed within the Grosvnor House Hotel and whilst we found the ambience of the restaurant to be somewhat muted the food was very good indeed.

    I am a huge lover of Indian food. Chef Vineet, we know, has international standing and repute and Indego does not disappoint. The decor is plush, classic and sophisticated, even down to the team uniforms. Every single dish, the selection of cocktails and wine list was exceptional. Beautiful use of flavor combinations, really enterprising, fresh and stylish presentation reflect a deep passion for, and an understanding of food. I went a la' carte but they have set menus with our without wine pairing. There is also a vegan and vegetarian menu to cater for broader palates which is great to see as well. I have the highest appreciation for this restaurant and can, without a doubt strongly recommend it. I shall certainly be visiting again, and again. Cannot wait for the next dinner at Indego

    Dined here once whilst staying half board at the Grosvener. We opted for the table d’hote menu. The meal started with poppadoms/chutneys and then an amuse bouche - delicious. The chicken tikka masala starter was possibly the most tasty, tender version of this dish I have eaten. We were served a coconut sorbet palate cleanser between courses. The lamb rogan josh served with breads also had a great depth of flavour and was very rich. The deserts were colourful and we were served a complimentary additional desert as we were celebrating an event. Would definitely recommend it if you want Indian cuisine.
