Dubai’s cultural heart meets the city’s modern vision at Al Seef

Now open to the public, the new Al Seef development, located near the iconic Dubai Creek, is ready to make its mark on Dubai’s heritage district. Beautiful traditions combine with modern designs at this new destination, as the city showcases an inspiring partnership between its proud past and bright future.

Phase one of the highly-anticipated development has launched with an irresistible combination of Emirati heritage and hospitality, homegrown concepts and world-renowned brands. The best way to take it all in is to embark on a cultural walking tour of the pedestrian-friendly Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, before wandering over to Al Seef and exploring its charming walkways, fully-operational marina, dining boulevard and events plaza on foot.

Old world charm

Hugging 1.8km of the Dubai Creek’s stately shoreline, near the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, the 2.5 million square foot development has two sections – a heritage area featuring old architecture, which blends into more contemporary spaces. Al Seef celebrates Dubai Creek’s beginnings as the famous coastal pearl-diving base, and places a strong emphasis on the region’s proud heritage, in addition to introducing forward-thinking elements that showcase the Creek’s natural beauty.

Once a vibrant entryway to the Gulf’s most successful pearl-diving port, the Creek’s legendary presence is still felt today, with fisherman and merchants criss-crossing the calm waters in their sleek dhows as part of their daily routine. Paying tribute to this traditional way of life, Al Seef has introduced an open-air floating market and accompanying Creekside pontoons, hosting regional crafts and textiles, Emirati art spaces and pop-ups dedicated to local cuisine.

Add in the Arabian 1950s-style souk (opening in phase two) and the result is a hands-on experience of traditional Emirati customs and an authentic flashback to the lifestyles of past generations.

Interconnected paths lead visitors along the stunning waterway, with options for a casual family meal, romantic dinner or elegant catch-ups all on the menu for visitors. With almost 500 shopping and dining concepts situated throughout the development, there’s something to satisfy every craving.

Al Seef is an accessories haven, with trendy handbags available at Zeneve London and customised jewellery drawing in savvy shoppers at Wired Up. Take a break and dine by Al Seef’s promenade that is dotted with cafes and restaurants serving world cuisine. Don’t miss the Arabian specialities at Ila restaurant, authentic Syrian fare at Al Hamidieh restaurant and sweet indulgences at Japanese-inspired dessert house, Yuki No Hana.

Fancy a room with a view? Al Seef is also home to three new hotels, with a total of 550 rooms and suites. Experience an authentic Arabian stay at the development’s heritage hotel, with a unique perspective into the Creek’s pearling past life. Or enjoy a more modern Dubai and check into either the soon-to-be-revealed trendy and upscale hotel, or the luxury accommodation option.
