Dubai is always host to brilliant fireworks displays on New Year’s Eve and an annual highlight is Burj Khalifa lighting up with a laser and fireworks spectacular. Combine the show with dinner by reserving a table at nearby restaurants – a few hotspots to consider are CÉ LA VI at Address Sky View, Asado at Palace Downtown and Abd El Wahab at Souk Al Bahar. Over at Palm Jumeirah, the best views of the famed Atlantis, The Palm fireworks can be admired from AURA Skypool.
Picnic by the beach
Dubai’s beaches are an excellent spot to ring in the New Year. Free to access, Kite Beach is ideal for a fun-filled picnic with views of Burj Al Arab. Get there early to catch the sunset before settling in for the night. If you prefer a little entertainment leading up to the countdown, make your way to The Beach opposite Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR). This hip urban beach precinct features an array of restaurants with sea views, ideal for a sparkling New Year's night.
Travel the world
Count down to midnight at Global Village, Dubai’s seasonal entertainment and shopping destination. In previous years, visitors enjoyed music and cultural dance performances at the outdoor arena all night long and, in between breaks, explored delicious dining kiosks, thrilling rides and carnival-themed attractions. Global Village is a great place to shop one-of-a-kind buys and souvenirs from around the world, with grand pavilions representing more than 90 cultures.
Stay, play and dine at Dubai's best hotels
Hotels across Dubai are set to host elaborate extravaganzas, so there's something for all ages to enjoy. For example, Atlantis, The Palm's celebrations are a key fixture on Dubai's New Year's Eve calendar, with delicious feasts and live entertainment. Little ones aged three and younger can join in the fun for free at many of the restaurants this year, including Nobu, Bread Street Kitchen and Kaleidoscope.
Feel the festive vibe at City Walk
City Walk's bright lights and pedestrian promenades are ideal for roaming around, with shops, restaurants and attractions that will delight all members of the family. New Year's Eve sees the area beautifully decorated, with eateries offering special menus to celebrate the start of 2024. Carnivores can opt for Turkish steakhouse Butcha's four-course feast, and taste a touch of spice at Pan-Arabic favourite Sikka Cafe or popular Boaz which is perched at the centre of the main plaza.
Eat and enjoy at Time Out Market Dubai
Food hall extraordinaire Time Out Market Dubai is one of the top spots to celebrate New Year's Eve in the city. With a terrace overlooking Burj Khalifa (and its iconic fireworks display), guests are treated to a front-row seat to a magical display. Count down to midnight with the sounds of The Reda Mafia band and DJ Akmaral, while you tuck into a choice of 250 dishes by some of the city's best chefs. Additional entertainment includes roaming acts, stilt walkers, a 360-degree photo booth, magicians and contortionists. Prices start from AED1,000 per person for a seat at the counters and go up to AED5,000 for a Burj Khalifa view.
Head to the desert with Sonara Camp
Could there be a more quintessentially Dubai experience than spending New Year's Eve surrounded by undulating sand dunes? The luxurious Sonara Camp will be hosting a glamorous affair at its fairy-lit, all-white location complete with a gourmet dinner, live band, fire shows and plenty of family-friendly fun. This year, Sonara is promising to reveal even more additional thrills on the night, so it's worth splashing out on this celebrity favourite.
Join the festivities at Burj Park
Book a front-row seat in the heart of the action with Burj Park's complimentary New Year's Eve experience. Tickets are available from Platinumlist.net, where you'll secure your exclusive place in the park on the big night. Entry will only be given to badge holders, who will collect their badges a few days prior to New Year's Eve. In addition to the fireworks and lights show, attendees will also enjoy F&B and live entertainment leading up to the celebrations.
