Learn something new

Jameel Arts

Located along the Dubai Creek, Jameel Arts Centre has dedicated Monday and Friday nights to post-iftar activities. The centre is collaborating with #MyDubai for Ramadan Nights, a series of interactive and educational events. You can learn the art of tablescaping on 19 April, bring the little ones along for Family Night on 23 April, or discover new works of Arabic literature on 26 April. On 30 April, the venue will also be hosting a Ramadan Souk, selling everything from baked goods to vintage clothes.

There will also be guided tours of the gallery’s exhibitions. Don't miss the large-scale, multi-lingual musical artwork, Composition for a Public Park, by artist and musician Hassan Khan.

Explore your creative side

Ramadan Nights

Al Quoz hotspot Alserkal Avenue is a hub for cultural expositions and events during the Holy Month. A number of galleries put on a series of events to really get immersed into the vibe of the season. Every Wednesday evening, with Alserkal Lates, the precinct’s galleries and creative concepts stay open later than usual, with tours and workshops for the city’s art aficionados. Discover Thaier Helal’s new solo show, Abyss, at Ayyam Gallery, which features abstract works made of materials such as glue, sand and coal. At The Third Line, you can check out Odysseus, by photographer Tarek Al-Ghoussein, which is his ongoing project to capture all of the islands off the coast of Abu Dhabi.

Pick up special finds at the mall

During Ramadan, the city’s malls light up with beautiful festive decorations to celebrate the Holy Month, including a pop-up Reflection Room at Ibn Battuta Mall adorned with lanterns and mirrors. Make your way to Mercato Shopping Mall and Dragon Mart for themed night markets or visit Dubai Festival City Mall for daily giveaways and delicious iftar offers where kids eat for free. There are plenty more Ramadan promotions to take advantage of, so don't miss out on bagging the best deals. If you’re keen to share your blessings this season, Mercato Shopping Mall is also hosting a number of charity initiatives to donate food and toys to families in need.

Experience an al fresco bazaar

Ripe Market
If you’re looking for bargains, look no further than Ripe Market at Academy Park, which will be transformed into a Ramadan bazaar every weekend from 16 April to 8 May. Once the sun goes down, the park will come alive with an outdoor cinema, bouncy castles, live music and flavourful iftar feasts from food trucks. There will be stalls piled high with products made by local artisans, as well as a henna artists, and games and competitions for the little ones.
