Dubai’s most romantic New Year’s Eve spots

Mon, August 24, 2020

Amazing venues, record-breaking fireworks and twinkling skyscrapers together make Dubai an incredibly romantic place to welcome the New Year.

Amazing venues, record-breaking fireworks and twinkling skyscrapers together make Dubai an incredibly romantic place to welcome the New Year.

Dreamy dining at Ossiano

A dining favourite for couples in Dubai, the Ossiano restaurant at Atlantis, The Palm has something memorable planned for New Year’s Eve. The evening’s special seven-course Mediterranean tasting menu by award-winning chef Gregoire Berger will be a culinary occasion of note, elevated by the restaurant’s unforgettable underwater setting that sees stingrays, sharks and fish gliding right past your table.

Under the stars with Platinum Heritage

Experience the best of Dubai's hospitality over a luxurious camping trip for two. Platinum Heritage’s safari experiences have it all, from a 45-minute wildlife desert drive to a delicious Emirati feast at a Bedouin camp amid the rolling dunes. Our favourite is the overnight safari and sunrise hot air balloon ride over the desert – book early though, as this is a popular package for New Year's Eve.

Raise the roof at The Penthouse

Dress up for the New Year's Eve celebration at The Penthouse, one of winter's hottest rooftop party spots. With five-star food to savour and an incredible line-up of live entertainment all through the night, this is a level up from ordinary. At midnight, look towards Dubai Marina as fireworks light up the sky and usher in a brand new year.

Slumber at Starlight Camp

The Starlight Camp is an Instagram favourite and their distinctive bubble tents have been popping up across Dubai's vast deserts all through winter. Their remote locations are kept so secret that exact coordinates are only shared with guests on the day, adding an exclusive touch. Kick back, relax and make the most of the camp's optional extras, such as a private chef, romantic decorations and a gourmet dinner on the sands. Best of all? Four-legged friends are welcome too, so even Marley can join in the fun.

Scents, sea and supper

Make New Year's Eve one to remember with mini adventures around Dubai. Start with a private perfumery session at Oo La Lab in Alserkal Avenue, a craft fragrance lab where you can create your own bespoke scents. Afterwards, wander around the Avenue and explore the creative hub's many contemporary art galleries.

At sunset, there's no better place to be than the beach. Dubai's public beaches are all free to access, so pick up a few takeaway goodies and dine by the shimmering shores. And it's no secret that, come midnight, beaches such as La Mer and Kite Beach also offer the best views of celebratory fireworks displays.

Luxury escapes on The Palm

Dubai's Palm Jumeirah island is home to some of the world's most luxurious resorts, including Waldorf Astoria, One&Only The Palm, W Dubai, Atlantis, The Palm and many more. If you're booking a New Year's Eve holiday for two, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is an excellent choice. Its Ottoman-inspired palace setting makes guests feel like royalty and the hotel is home to one of the city's most renowned spas for couples. For the festive season, guests can make the most of special menus, themed treats and new spa temptations, so book your stay soon.

Magical moments in Hatta

Plan a road trip to the serene mountain town of Hatta. An exclave of Dubai, Hatta offers one of the most picturesque settings for any celebration. Skip traditional hotel rooms to pitch up a tent and sleep under a night blanket of stars. The entire town is very well sign-posted so, if you feel like socialising, there's even a dedicated camping area complete with food trucks, barbecue facilities, showers and more. Wake up early to go trekking together along the mountain trails, watching the sun rise on 2021.
