Dubai's top seafood restaurants

Mon, April 5, 2021

With its extensive coastline, Dubai boasts some of the finest seafood restaurants.

With its extensive coastline, Dubai boasts some of the finest seafood restaurants.

This over-water venue, at the edge of its own pier, offers incomparable views of the Burj Al Arab. Long lauded as one of Dubai’s most romantic restaurants, balmy ocean breezes flow through oversized windows and glamorous décor, while fishing net-style crystal chandeliers bring home the marine theme.

The contemporary gourmet menu showcases the finest seafood, from Beluga caviar and Gillardeau oysters, to Norwegian cod, Atlantic halibut and Cornish turbot. Don’t miss the grilled scallops with tapioca pearl, vanilla and bergamot butter, or the poached lobster with roasted cauliflower and Dijon mustard sauce.

Bu Qtair

What started as a humble shack on the beach has transformed to a bustling restaurant that ranks high on every must-try dining list in the city. Located at Jumeirah's fishing harbour, this is a no-frills experience, which adds to its charm.

Make like the locals and order spicy fish at the counter. This usually involves the catch of the day being liberally coated in a secret spice mix and grilled to perfection, served with hot paratha bread and a curry-like gravy on the side. Don't be shy and use your hands – it's messy but oh so moreish.

The MAINE Oyster Bar & Grill

Tuck into a unique dining concept nestled within the garage of a plush beachside hotel. Explore tasteful interiors at The MAINE Oyster Grill & Bar, a New England-inspired seaside brasserie with a stunning outdoor terrace.

Take in the grandeur of Neptune Folly – a three-tiered seafood tower decorated with crab legs, prawns, oysters and scallop ceviche – or enjoy a Mexican touch with the crispy fish tacos and or get indulgent with the lobster roll.

Surrounded by Sofitel’s idyllic pool and resort, this pagoda-style seafood restaurant is all about authentic yet contemporary fare. Focusing heavily on Asian-inspired flavours, Moana combines a variety of cuisines and cooking styles under one roof.

Start with some sashimi and sushi before moving onto the ceviche and signature curries which range from Indian-style and Singaporean to Thai. Finish with one of the popular desserts like the sticky date pudding, or zingy mango sorbet.

Vying for the title of best seafood restaurant in Dubai, Ossiano always impresses. Surrounded by the Lost Chambers Aquarium in Atlantis, The Palm, this could possibly be the perfect choice for romantic dinners. With floor-to-ceiling walls, or lack thereof, you get the most stunning aquarium views right from your table.

You'll be spoilt for choice with various à la carté options and chef’s specials. We recommend the oysters to start, followed by one of the experience menu options ranging from four, five, or even seven courses. A meal here is well worth every dirham.
