Hamdan Sports Complex

Hamdan Sports Complex

Whatever your fitness goals, you’ll find something to enjoy at this all-purpose sports and events facility on Emirates Road. The cavernous complex hosts local and international tournaments, ranging from basketball to karate, and has a competition arena that seats up to 15,000 people. It’s also home to two Olympic-standard swimming pools – with classes including diving, water polo and synchronised swimming – as well as table tennis courts, badminton courts, a cycling track and a high-tech gym. After your workout, why not treat yourself to a relaxing sauna or a dip in the Jacuzzi.

Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex

This venue is a favourite for elite athletes visiting Dubai for some warm-weather training – from UFC fighters and Formula One drivers to Premier League football teams such as Manchester United and Arsenal. Inside, you’ll find badminton, padel tennis, squash and volleyball courts, plus fencing and beach football. There’s also a 5,840-seat stadium for major matches and tournaments, as well as a health club and spa that features a gym and swimming pool, sauna, dressing room and cutting-edge recovery equipment such as a cryotherapy chamber. Step outside and discover two full-sized football pitches circled by a first-class athletics track. Every year during Ramadan, the complex hosts a sports tournament – with cash prizes to be won. The 2023 edition comprises eight categories — padel, running, cycling, volleyball, archery, fencing, wheelchair basketball and jiu-jitsu — welcoming hopefuls of all ages and athletic abilities.

Dubai Sports World

If you’re aiming to stay fit and sociable during the summer months, Dubai Sports World offers the perfect solution. Every year, as temperatures begin to rise, this 20,000sqm sporting hub opens up in Za’abeel Halls 3-6 of Dubai World Trade Centre. Choose from football, basketball, tennis, volleyball, badminton, padel, cricket and table tennis. Make sure to book your court or pitch early, as this ever-popular venue attracts sports fanatics from across the city who are looking to beat the heat.

United Pro Sports

From basketball and badminton to football and fencing, United Pro Sports (or U-Pro for short) is a great pick for anyone looking to break a sweat. Spread across 46,000sqft, the indoor centre in Al Quoz also has plenty to entice the city’s cricket fanatics - with four indoor pitches, three practice areas and a bowling machine. Elsewhere in the facility, you’ll find two FIFA-approved five-a-side football pitches and two multipurpose courts that can be used for everything from dodgeball to tug of war. And U-Pro even has a children’s academy, where your young ones can develop their sporting abilities while making new friends.

Zabeel Sports District

Break a sweat outside while taking in stunning Downtown and Burj Khalifa views at this complex on the rooftop of Dubai Mall Zabeel. Try your hand at pickleball, the fast-growing racket sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. The 20,000sqft facility also offers basketball, volleyball, padel, badminton and cricket (with safety nets). Once you’ve finished your chosen activity – whether outdoors or in a covered and air-conditioned court – you can head to the juice bar for a healthy pick-me-up, or book a coaching session to supercharge your sporting abilities.

Danube Sports World

Measuring a massive 200,000sqft, Danube Sports World is Dubai’s largest indoor sporting facility. The air-inflated dome in Al Habtoor City offers nine padel courts, eight badminton courts, six table tennis courts, four cricket pitches, three football pitches, a tennis court and a boxing ring.  Young football fans will love the Juventus Academy, and there are plenty of other coaching options available for both children and adults to hone their skills. If you’re serious about improving your padel game, the centre has a team of top Spanish talents to guide you to glory. It’s also worth checking out the centre’s platinum and gold packages, which enable you to save money by booking multiple visits in advance.

InSportz Club

Specialising in indoor cricket, this popular hub has operated in Dubai for more than 25 years. Other sports available at InSportz include football, basketball, hockey and table tennis – while ten-pin bowling fans will love the facility’s professional standard, four-lane bowling alley. Whether you’re looking to start your own sports league, arrange a tournament, play a friendly game or receive some coaching, you’ll find it here in Dubai’s Al Quoz district.

Sport Society

If you need a sporting destination that’s sure to delight every member of the family, look no further. Get your skates on and glide around Sport Society’s ice rink, let your little ones loose in the underwater-themed indoor playground and head up to the rooftop for padel tennis, badminton, basketball or five-a-side football. Elsewhere at the facility in Mirdif, you’ll find lots more fun ways to improve your fitness – from rock climbing, trampolining and ten-pin bowling to jiu jitsu, beach volleyball and gymnastics. Sport Society even houses its own shopping centre, with plenty of retail and dining options to help you relax and recharge.

Since it opened in 1979, Al Nasr Leisureland has continued to keep the city’s residents energised and entertained. The complex in Oud Metha has an Olympic-sized ice rink, with lessons available for ages four and up plus an ice hockey league for more seasoned skaters.  On top of this, you’ll find an eight-lane ten-pin bowling alley, squash and tennis courts, a swimming pool with slides and a wave machine, plus separate men’s and women’s fitness centres.
