Some of the city’s restaurateurs are dedicated to serving plant-based concepts that impress.

Soul Santé Café

Soul Santé, a vegan café in the heart of Dubai Marina, sets out to break stereotypes about plant-based diets having restrictive options. There’s much to savour, with dishes that are calorie counted, free from sugar, soy, gluten and carbs. Standouts include the grilled peach salad, beetroot sliders, pulled jackfruit tacos and Soul Santé’s signature eggless omelette. For those with a sweet tooth, the desserts won’t disappoint either, as you can indulge in guilt-free treats such as peanut butter cups, chocolate cupcakes and banana pancakes.

Little Erth by Nabz&G

Seek out the healthy and affordable at Little Erth by Nabz&G at Jumeirah Lakes Towers, where the menu is 90% vegan with a smattering of pescatarian choices. The restaurant challenges the misconception that healthy food is bland and expensive, offering up dishes that are delightfully delicious. In addition to plenty of vegan options, Little Erth also has gluten-free fare. Among Little Erth’s signature dishes is the Buddha Burger which is made from quinoa, red kidney beans and sweet potatoes, and the Zesty Spaghetti made from raw zucchini pasta and kefir lemongrass cashew cream.

Wild & The Moon

Acai bowl at Wild & the Moon in Dubai
Starting out life in Dubai within Alserkal Avenue, Wild & The Moon is now dotted across the emirate with additional branches in DIFC and Downtown Dubai. As its core concept, Wild & The Moon believes that food should be good for you and the planet, as well as delicious. The ingredients used for the dishes are local where possible and ethically sourced. That means you can indulge in cold-pressed juices, smoothies, salads, soups, desserts and snacks that are free from refined sugar, additives, chemicals, GMOs, gluten and dairy. All recipes have been designed by raw vegan experts, with the aim of showcasing the best that nature can offer.

With a menu that is 100% vegan and tucked away in a serene garden is SEVA Table. You can sit outdoors in the lush garden in cooler months, or escape to an air-conditioned area during the summer. The cafe offers a variety of options including the eggless omelette, the acai bowl and the ‘unbeatable vurger’ – where flavours have been created using raw vegetables, flowers, fruits, herbs, roots, nuts and seeds and even seaweed. The cafe is just one part of the space, which also offers a wellness centre and a store. The team behind the food also hosts regular yoga classes, and listen to mantras when cooking to infuse everything with the ‘being-well’ frequency.

Bounty Beets

Bounty Beets is a welcome addition to the plant-based block and has on offer a menu that is 70% vegan. A venue which is Instagrammable as well as healthy, the restaurant is also committed to the community and the environment: it tries to source as much as it can from local and/or organic sources, and also recycles food waste through an onsite composter. In addition to the vegan offerings (from the açaí berry power bowl through to the organic black bean burger), the restaurant hosts a weekend brunch every Friday and Saturday from 8am to noon, serving up unlimited selected menu items, coffees and juices for indulgence with no guilt.

This standalone vegan eatery occupies a pretty al fresco spot in the lush gardens of the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach and features a menu curated by celebrated chef Matthew Kenney, which combines comfort food and healthy dishes that even the most committed carnivore will swoon over. Don't miss the mushroom barbacoa tacos, wild mushroom sandwich with truffle aioli or the macadamia crusted coconut pie for dessert.

Neat Burger

From the brain of Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton comes a vegan restaurant serving burgers, fries and shakes. All menu items are meat- and dairy-free in a bid to make the planet a more plant-based, sustainable place. You can find the restaurant in Dubai Mall, just look out for the pink and green interiors.

The space is warm and cosy, with wood and cane furniture, marble accents and an outdoor terrace where your furry friends are welcome too.
