Legoland Waterpark

Interactive fun

Legoland Waterpark

Interactive fun

Best for: Slips and slides

There’s fun galore in store at Legoland Water park at Dubai Parks and Resorts. Most of the rides and slides allow little ones to race each other or ride together in groups. The Duplo Splash Safari caters to toddlers while a few single slides provide thrills for the braver big kids. Children can also exercise their brains with ‘Build-A-Boat’, where they can construct any kind of boat imaginable and test it against the current to see how well it fares. Those looking to float down the lazy river can customise their rafts with big, soft Legos at the Build-A-Raft-River before sailing off. Legoland Water park is ideal for families with children aged 2 to 12 and provides fun, interactive experiences.

Aquaventure

Dubai’s biggest waterpark

Aquaventure

Dubai’s biggest waterpark

Best for: Adventure seekers

Set in the sprawling Atlantis The Palm resort, Aquaventure is the biggest waterpark in Dubai and can boast some of the most adrenaline-pumping rides of any waterpark anywhere in the world. The park itself comprises two main towers (Poseidon and Neptune), which are connected by a giant lazy river that transports riders between slides.

For those who thrive on adrenaline, the park has a number of options; however, the most hardcore have to be Poseidon’s Revenge and the Leap of Faith. The former closes riders into a see-through vertical tube, before a trap door opens, leaving them to plummet towards the ground, whereas the latter is simply a wide-open, near-vertical drop that only those with particularly strong stomachs dare undertake.

Wild Wadi

The waterpark with a view

Wild Wadi

The waterpark with a view

Best for: Classic fun

Dubai’s original waterpark, Wild Wadi Waterpark has been thrilling Dubai tourists and residents young and old since 1999. It is hard to believe that the park has stood for more than 15 years, though, as the rides are continually updated and the park always looks flawless.

The jewel in the crown of Wild Wadi has long since been the Jumeirah Sceirah – a 120m slide that sees riders hit speeds of 80km/h after being dropped through a trap door. There are also a number of raft-based slides at the park, with the heart-thumping Tantrum Alley, which sees rafts with as many as four people at a time hurtle down steep waterslides, appearing to come perilously close to the open edges, before cascading into the water pool below.
