As we count down to 2024, here are the best places to be when the Dubai sky lights up at midnight.

As we count down to 2024, here are the best places to be when the Dubai sky lights up at midnight.

Don't miss Burj Khalifa

All eyes will be on Downtown Dubai's spectacular pyrotechnics, light and laser extravaganza on 31 December. Head to Dubai Mall to watch The Dubai Fountain's spectacular light and water show as it builds up to a grand finale at midnight – we recommend booking a table at one of the many restaurants in Downtown Dubai, including Souk Al Bahar or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard for the closest, most unobstructed view of the tower. If you're celebrating as a family, consider spending the evening at Burj Park, located on a small island out on Burj Lake with clear views of the fountain shows.

Celebrate by the waters of Al Seef

Fireworks seef

Looking for a celebratory spot with old-world charm this New Year's Eve? Head to Dubai's heritage district of Al Seef, located by the historic waters of the Dubai Creek. It presents a truly picturesque setting with traditional dhows and centuries-old architecture. Take in stunning views of the fireworks from waterfront restaurants in the district, such as Skafos, that delights with Italian, Spanish and Greek dishes, and ILA, that serves up fresh Arabic fare.

An island spectacle at Atlantis, The Palm

Fireworks from Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai
This landmark Dubai hotel always puts on quite a show to ring in the New Year. Join in the festivities at Atlantis, The Palm by booking a table at one of the hotel's fantastic restaurants and lounges, or enjoy a night of glamour at the highly-anticipated NYE gala dinner featuring a captivating live performance by the Princess of Pop Kylie Minogue. The Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk nearby also offers numerous vantage points for visitors to watch the fireworks displays light up the sky, or you can dine at any one of the waterside restaurants at The Pointe, which is also home to the world's largest fountain.

Set sail for sparkling scenes

Fireworks from Arabian Gulf in Dubai

This New Year's Eve, try something different with an unforgettable yachting experience with the city's leading operators, such as Xclusive, Seven Yachts and Lotus Mega Yacht. You can request a tailored route that takes in the best sights and fireworks at midnight, or choose one of their exclusive evening packages, complete with gourmet bites and non-stop entertainment. For a budget-friendly alternative, consider the public Dubai Ferry, waterbus and abra marine transport. There are various offers and routes to consider, with stops at Dubai Water Canal, Atlantis, The Palm and Al Seef. For more information and to book a ride, call Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority on 800 9090 (toll-free).

Head to The Beach

Fireworks from Arabian Gulf in Dubai
Located just opposite Jumeirah Beach Residences in Dubai Marina, The Beach is a sunny shoreside resort for all and the site of the city's most vibrant fireworks displays. Spend New Year's Eve on the sand or book a table at one of the hotspot's restaurants like Catch22 or any of the six dining venues at Pavilion at The Beach before colourful fireworks light up the night sky. Alternatively, see the show from across the water aboard a marine taxi, which you can catch from Marina Mall Station.

All eyes on the island

When the clock strikes 12 and a new year begins, all eyes will be on Bluewaters Island as it erupts into a kaleidoscope of colour. The three-minute show will complement The Beach at JBR's firework display, giving people in the area double the awe and amazement at midnight on New Year's Eve.

See the sky illuminate and get an early night

Riverland Dubai

For people (and little ones) who prefer to be asleep before midnight, Dubai Parks and Resorts' Riverland will have two laser show and fireworks displays at the respectable times of 7pm and 9pm. Who says that those who love an early night should miss out on the fun?

See the world in one night

Global Village Celebrations

Known for being a multi-cultural haven for people all over the world to come and spend time in, Global Village's annual fireworks display is a special affair. Every year on 31 December, the attraction has multiple displays throughout the evening. This year, there will be no less than seven fireworks displays, ensuring the celebration of multiple time zones around the world. The countdown begins with China at 8pm (local time) and then moves onto Thailand at 9pm, Bangladesh at 10pm, India at 10.30pm, Pakistan at 11pm, UAE at 12am and finally Turkey at 1am.

Celebrate with DSF

DSF Fireworks Nights returns from 15 December, with daily shows every single night until 14 January. Catch the enchanting displays of colours and lights as Al Seef hosts the wonder-filled fireworks on 31 December at 9pm.
