One of the highlights of the Dubai Food Festival, Dubai Restaurant Week, gave the city’s food lovers the opportunity to enjoy three-course set menus - exclusively curated for the event - at 15 of Dubai’s best restaurants. For just AED199, customers were able to enjoy gourmet dishes from a range of international cuisines. This year’s lineup included world-renowned restaurants at iconic locations such as The Atlantic at Souk Al Bahar, and folly by Nick & Scott at Souk Madinat Jumeirah.

The pop-up venue located at Jumeirah Beach, behind Sunset Mall transformed into a culinary hotspot for the duration of the festival, showcasing the best homegrown concepts that Dubai has to offer. Visitors to this one-of-a-kind event sampled dishes from around the world - from Mexican and Polish street food to authentic Middle Eastern cuisine . Along with cooking demos, fitness events and a packed entertainment line-up, Etisalat Beach Canteen is always a highlight event of the Dubai Food Festival.

From the bustling streets of Bur Dubai to the quieter neighbourhood of Jumeirah, Dubai is dotted with numerous culinary Hidden Gems and these resident-favourite budget venues have always been a focus for Dubai Food Festival. For Hidden Gems 2018, Dubai’s food lovers were invited to vote for their secret dining spots, with the top 10 finalists offering special menus for AED 25 on select days throughout Dubai Food Festival. From Bur Dubai-based Fish Hut to the quirky Wok n Roll in Al Barsha, a diverse selection of restaurants were showcased with foodies around the city flocking to try them out.

One of Dubai’s longest-running food events, Taste of Dubai served up more delectable delights this year in its 11th edition. Thousands of the city’s food lovers made their way to Dubai Media City Amphitheatre to savour dishes from dozens of Dubai’s best fine-dining restaurants while enjoying live music and entertainment.

Visitors were able to learn from celebrity chefs during live cooking demonstrations, meet their culinary heroes and try sampler dishes from restaurants such as Ronda Locatelli, Nobu and Bread Street Kitchen.

Foodies in search of old favourite or new flavour-packed hotspots also had the chance to win big as part of Dubai Food Festival 2018 with the return of the city-wide Dine & Win programme. For every AED 50 spent on food at a host of participating restaurants across Dubai, diners were entered into a big prize draw where they nibbled, munched and feasted in the hope of taking home Novo Elite Dubai Experience vouchers, Zomato Gold memberships and even an all-new Nissan Kicks!

With culinary events taking place on almost every street corner, beach boardwalk and mall avenue, Dubai Food Festival attendees got to tick all the culinary boxes in 2018 from Latino flavours at City Walk’s Miami Vibes Food Festival to seaside tapas-style eats at the popular Bites at The Beach. There was even high-flying action over the Etisalat Beach Canteen skies with the colourful International Kite Fest wrapping up the festivities.

The emirate’s continually-evolving food scene deserves recognition and hundreds of food-loving spectators thronged Sunset Beach on the final day of the 2018 Dubai Food Festival to applaud the winners of the inaugural Dubai Street Food Awards. Voted for by a jury of eminent entrepreneurs and respected bloggers, the awards honoured the city’s best homegrown food trucks and street food vendors in categories including Best Dessert and Best Street Food Concept.
