Dubai Festival City

Shopping, world-class hotels and entertainment

One of Dubai’s most exciting retail, dining and leisure precincts is Dubai Festival City – also a popular vantage point for spectacular sunsets and an evening light show over the surrounding water.

Located only five minutes from Dubai International Airport, with easy access to old Dubai and Downtown, it is a popular location for stopover and business travellers. And with the new canal open, visitors can now access Festival City via ferry from hotels located in the Downtown area.

The Dubai Festival City Mall is a key highlight, offering over 350 stores at your disposal, including mega-department stores such as Ikea Dubai and Robinsons. You’ll also find brands such as Top Shop, H&M, Coach, DKNY and so many more.

Add to that a cinema complex and a variety of dining options including cafes, bakeries and a large food court. There are two separate areas packed with speciality restaurants, as well as loads of sweets and dessert sections.

Travellers will love Imagine, a record-setting water, light and laser projection show that takes place daily after sunset at Festival Bay. Festival City is also the location of some of the city’s most popular festivals including the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature in March and Dubai Shopping Festival in January each year.

Bordering Dubai Creek, Festival City also offers a selection of world class hotels like the Intercontinental.

  • Ok
The new areas renovated recently have some good brands and shops. Lot of variety is available no matter what you are looking for. I enjoyed spending three hours exploring.

  • Large, less crowded Mall in Dubai
Dubai Festival City Mall is one of the biggest in a city full of big ones and unlike the others, is much less crowded too in general. Located right next to the Dubai Creek, the Mall has a lovely creekside promenade, which serves as a great spot for walking, jogging or even indulging in some beach sports in the small sandy area next to the creek. The mall itself has a large IKEA store, a Carrefour hypermarket and numerous branded stores and restaurants. In recent times, to boost footfalls, the Mall has actively been hosting numerous events such as the Dubai Fitness Challenge, Lego Fest and the upcoming Festival of Literature. These events and the regular fireworks displays in the Creek are popular attractions. The best part of the Mall are the sound and light shows called as Imagine, which play every evening on the Creek and the facade of the Intercontinental Hotel and are an awesome experience, which is almost as good as the Dubai Fountain, though not as well-known. Each of the shows are well-constructed and are worth a watch.

  • Beautiful place
It's a really nice mall with so many places for kids to have fun. You can find almost every shop in the mall. It's a great place to visit especially with kids.
