Shop at an accessible, family-friendly mall that offers high-end stores at City Centre Deira. All the usual suspects are here, including H&M, Zara, Mango, Forever 21, Aldo and Accessorize.

The mall which is popular with locals, is particularly good for children, thanks to Gap Children and Gap Baby store, Mothercare, Tommy Hilfiger Kids, River Woods Baby and KIDZ at Iconic. There's plenty for parents too, with Debenhams, Balmain, Diesel and Bershka. And of course, let’s not forget the high-street stores stocking the latest in fashion.

With more than 370 stores, the mall has everything from an optician and pharmacy. You can even find a jewellery and textile court selling Middle Eastern handicrafts.

Stop by the large Carrefour supermarket, among the variety of anchor stores. Aside from shopping, you’ll find an entertainment centre, multiplex cinema, a bowling alley and food courts.

City Centre Deira is conveniently connected to two hotels, Aloft Dubai City Centre Deira and Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre, making your stay a one-stop-shop holiday.

Shop, dine or skydive (yes, that's right) at City Centre Mirdif.

One of the city's busiest malls, City Centre Mirdif is popular with families because of the huge range activities: bowling, a climbing wall, a soccer circus, and an arcade with game simulators and rides to keep the youngsters (and young at heart) busy.

Plus, you can even go skydiving indoors at iFly Dubai. This is just one example showcasing that Dubai's malls aren’t just about the shopping – it’s the whole entertainment experience.

Add to this a 10-screen Vox cinema, 80 eateries and a Carrefour supermarket. You could easily spend all day at this easy-to-navigate mall. But if you do come for the shopping, you’ll find over 260 brands including Debenhams, Forever 21 and Pottery Barn.

With more than 430 stores, this is a giant hub for leisure, entertainment, dining and shopping.

  • Probably not the best place of tourists
It's a large mall and you can find most international brands but more expensive compared with London or New York. There are very few local shops which is a pity. As a tourist, there is no point going to the mall and pay more to buy something available at home. For tourist, it is much better to visit the Dubai Mall unless you need to do grocery shopping at the Carrefour which is in the mall.

  • Bit disappointing and cold
We didn’t stay in the mall long as it was freezing cold and definitely not as good as the Dubai Mall. The ski slope was ok although it was quite expensive £55 for two hours and you have to buy gloves!

  • Nice but nothing on the Dubai Mall
Coming from the UK and Ireland, the Mal of the Emirates is a good mall and has a lot to see and do but in having visited the Dubai Mall first, the two aren't in the same league with the Dubai Mall being far superior.
