The Fairmont Dubai offers a particularly well-executed take on the global trend of dining in the dark. During the 90-minute dinner experience at Noire, waiters wearing night vision goggles serve a three-course meal with paired refreshments to 30 diners sitting in an entirely dark room. The goal? To heighten your four remaining senses, thereby giving participants a greater appreciation for what they're eating. Waiters are on hand to help guide diners to the whereabouts of the silverware and glasses on the table. After finishing the meal, the lights are turned on for a culinary discussion with the chefs. Noire also has a charitable arm as 10% of the proceeds from every meal are donated to a charitable organisation that combats blindness in developing countries.
