The hotel's distinctive sail-shaped silhouette has made it an iconic symbol of modern Dubai. Often voted the world's most luxurious hotel, the Burj Al Arab is one of the region's most famous tourist landmarks. Built on a triangular man-made island, the billowing sail-like structure rises 321 metres above the sea and the hotels atrium lobby is the tallest in the world.

The Burj Al Arab sets a new standard for hospitality superlatives, including an underwater aquarium restaurant that you reach through a simulated submarine voyage, a fleet of Rolls-Royces on the forecourt and the famous helipad that has hosted numerous celebrity stunts. Where else will your cappuccino be sprinkled with gold dust?

You can enjoy 30 rides and attractions, including the Wipeout and Riptide Flowriders surfing experiences.

At Tantrum Alley, you'll face three tornados and meet the eye of a storm, while at Jumeirah Sceirah (redesigned in 2012) you'll shoot down one of two 120-metre tandem slides at an astonishing speed of 80km/h. Babies and toddlers will love the colourful slides, water guns, climbing frames, and dumping bucket designed especially for families.

  • Once in a lifetime
Booked for High Tea in mid-afternoon 4:15 pm. Food was outstanding and tea choices were the best I have ever sampled anywhere on the planet. Come with an appetite because you will find it hard to eat everything. You can get as many refills as you want at no extra cost (except alcohol). Tea package comes with one glass of champagne. Staff is attentive and efficient. Washrooms offer Hermes hand cream and eau de toilette. This activity must be reserved as you cannot access the hotel property without a reservation. Mid-afternoon is the best time because you get to enjoy the sunset.

  • Nice views at night, food disappointing
After being seated, we were brought olives, & nuts. we chose 4 food items from menu. Falafel was very dry, beef tasteless, humous tasteless, burger bland. Overall very poor quality for such a high rated iconic place of interest. We didn’t even get to spend the minimum spend of 320 Dirhams. Spoke to the Manager & advised of our disappointment & he agreed we only pay for our drinks. We paid & left. It was my birthday treat so was disappointed. We were brought a Rose & small cake to mark the occasion but I wasn’t in the mood by then. This place should have a proper Chef preparing decent food for the Sky Bar. What a complete let down. Do not bother just go for drinks.

  • High Tea: must do!
The Skyview Bar is located at the 27th floor of Burj al Arab. We had High Tea during the afternoon. If you want to go make sure you make a reservation well ahead of time, especially if you would like to have a window table (extra charge 100AED). But it is an experience you wouldn’t like to miss visiting Dubai. The hotel Burj al Arab is already an experience to see. The service was not always as it should be (spotty) but the High Tea was excellent and the views stunning. Minimum age is 21 year of age (Dubai law)
