Rich with indigenous fauna and flora, including groves of Ghaf trees, Mushrif Park first opened in the 1980s. It has since been enhanced and remains a firm favourite among residents for outings in nature.
Close to the city’s quieter residential hubs, the park is a wonderful place for a walk or ball game with the kids. Picnic areas, barbecue pits and sports facilities are available in plenty – perfect for when you’re in the mood for a family fun day.
Thrill-seekers will be happy to know that Mushrif Park is home to the tree-top adventure course, Aventura Parks. Book a session here to take on rope courses and zipline across 80 exciting challenges.
Enjoy cycling? There’s a 20km mountain biking trail that winds its way through the park, suitable for beginners and pro mountain bikers alike. There's also the 1.5km Young Rangers Cycling Trail, a picturesque route through the forest designed for kids under 12 years old.
Mushrif Park is one of the few public parks in the city with access to swimming pools. There are two pools, each with lockers and roof covers. Open daily from 9am to 9pm, it costs only AED5 (for kids) or AED10 (for adults) for a swim!
Measuring 9.7km, the park's free hiking trail comprises the 8.3km yellow track, which is suitable for everyone, and the trickier 1.4km orange track, which is aimed at athletes and seasoned hikers.
