A long-time stalwart of the Dubai dining scene, Shabestan has been serving up traditional Iranian dishes for over three decades and has been awarded a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide. Situated at the Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek, it's packed with regulars returning to feast on finely-tuned recipes, with the emphasis on authentic eats, generous portions and a relaxed ambience.

You'll find plenty of favourites on the menu, from grilled meats and fresh seafood to slow-cooked stews. First-timers should let the service team – many of whom have been at the restaurant since its inception – guide them through the spread to ensure a delicious experience.

Savour Iranian specialities at Shabestan

Start off with a soothing bowl of soup, dips and starters – the zesty Shirazi chopped salad shouldn't be missed. When it comes to mains you are spoiled for choice. From herb-filled ghomeh sabzi stew of slow-cooked lamb, to succulent saffron shrimps or zereshk polo chicken with wild berries, you'll find all your favourite Persian dish here.

This spot is ideal for celebrations or special gatherings too. Opt for the Shabestan speciality platter featuring lamb, chicken and seafood, accompanied by three kinds of rice and freshly-baked bread – more than enough to satiate a party of four.

Don't forget to finish off with the faloodeh, a distinct Iranian dessert with scoops of ice cream, vermicelli and a hint of rosewater.
