On 2 December, the United Arab Emirates will celebrate 48 years of its union with grand parades, community events and more. The week leading up to UAE National Day also sees free celebrity concerts, cultural performances and stunning fireworks displays. Keep an eye out for amazing offers at the city’s top attractions and hotels in the run up to the festivities, or head over to Etihad Museum to dive into the UAE’s history at the Founding Fathers exhibition and learn more about the nation’s past.

Dubai’s biggest street culture fair Sole DXB returns with a line-up of fresh fashion and street style brands. This two-day festival features live music performances by hip hop and R&B stars, interactive workshops, food trucks, art installations and offbeat brand activations. Sneaker fans can get access to new collections from the likes of Puma and Adidas, as well as Buffalo London’s 1990s-inspired chunky sneakers, NYC’s female-founded luxury lifestyle brand Vianna Occhino, and accessories designer SPRAYGROUND.

It’s time for top rugby teams from around the world to battle it out at the Sevens Stadium as the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens returns to the city. This three-day competition is a highlight of Dubai’s sports calendar with electric men’s and women’s tournaments. There’s plenty of action off the pitch too with food villages, live entertainment and activities for the whole family. Top it off with one of the year's most anticipated concerts when pop sensation Kylie Minogue takes over the stadium on 6 December.
Dubai’s holiday calendar is packed with something for all ages. Celebrate winter with stage productions to enchant the whole family as Dubai Opera transforms into a whimsical world with the seasonal staple The Nutcracker from 4-7 December. You can also sing classic holiday tunes with The London Concert Orchestra Show Band and Capital Voices Choir at the Jingle Bell Favourites from 12-14 December. At Fairmont The Palm, children will delight in a special pantomime rendition of the beloved fairytale, Cinderella.

Calling all shopaholics and bargain hunters – Dubai Shopping Festival is back for its 25th edition with more in store than ever before. Starting 26 December, malls, markets, retail stores and shopping venues across Dubai will offer amazing discounts and offers to mark the much-loved festival. Expect great deals, competitions and raffle prizes, along with a plethora of concerts, fireworks displays and pop-up events to make winter an unforgettable season in Dubai. Mark your calendar!

December peaks with a string of A-list artists making their way to Dubai. Treasured British singer Dido is bringing her first tour in 15 years to the stunning Coca-Cola Arena on 13 December while Pakistani musician Rahat Fateh Ali Khan takes over the same venue on 27 December. Jazz fans can head to the Dubai Opera where Omar Kamal will be performing on 15 December, followed by talented sitarist Anoushka Shankar on 20 December.
Whether it’s in the shadows of the world’s tallest building, atop some of the best rooftop lounges, or in the middle of the desert, there are many ways to celebrate as the clock strikes midnight in Dubai on 31 December. Take your pick of the most happening events in town, from an elaborate gala at Atlantis The Palm to a beachside bash at Zero Gravity with Jax Jones and Jonas Blue. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the city’s many incredible fireworks displays to light up your New Year’s Eve.
