Join more than 30,000 runners at the 21st edition of the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon on 24 January. Amongst the richest races in the world, this 42km race attracts seasoned runners and ambitious amateurs to put their best foot forward in pursuit of a US$20,000 (AED73,464) prize purse. You can also opt for the 10km distance or a 4km fun run instead, each of which takes in sights of the city’s iconic landmarks, including Burj Al Arab. As competitors race through the streets, spectators can cheer them on to the finish line.

Golfing masters hit the greens

A highlight in the international golfing calendar, the Omega Dubai Desert Classic returns for its 31st edition at the Emirates Golf Club. Welcoming stars such as defending champion Bryson DeChambeau, Tommy Fleetwood and Sergio Garcia, players will battle it out for the US$3 million (AED11 million) prize and the chance to see their name etched on the famed Dallah trophy. The three-day competition is equally as thrilling for the crowds, as spectators enjoy a host of events on the sidelines, including a tournament village with plenty of family attractions and diverse dining options.

Car enthusiasts are in for a treat as Hankook 24H pulls up at the Dubai Autodrome from 9-11 January. It is considered one of the world's most modern and challenging routes, with technical corners and high-speed straights to keep spectators on the edge of their seats. See up to 100 Touring and GT cars from leading automotive greats during this year’s edition including Porsche, Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz.
