Shining a light on homegrown and visiting comedians

There is never a lull in Dubai’s packed comedy calendar. International artists from the world over grace venues across town, and with the city’s burgeoning homegrown comedy scene, there are plenty of performances that will tickle your funny bone. This July, Indian-born, American-raised and UAE-based female comedian Arzoo Malhotra will debut her first show titled ‘Unladylike’ at The Junction. Then, over at the Queen Elizabeth 2, India’s shining star Varun Grover will be the second act in the ongoing Laughathon 3.0 series. An award-winning lyricist and screenwriter of Netflix’s Sacred Games, Grover has a way with words that serves his stand-up just as well.
