Gohei Kishi

After his first eighteen years in Paris, Chef Gohei returned to his roots to begin his culinary career in Japan. He spent five years learning the fundamentals of Japanese cuisine at Kappou Nakajima, a one Michelin starred restaurant.

He then moved to Madrid in 2007 as Sushi Chef in Le Garage, where he learnt Spanish as he refined his culinary skills. His next move was to London as head of Asian Concepts with the acclaimed Gordon Ramsay Group. 

Moving to Dubai in 2012 proved to be another step up in his career. Today, as Executive Chef at the MFMS group, Chef Gohei oversees Mahiki, popular for its Polynesian Grill, Ramusake, the London-born Japanese restaurant, Copper Dog, from Scotland’s Highlands as well as the group’s corporate and private event functions.
Owing to his multicultural experience, he brings to the table a keen understanding of Japanese cuisine, modern French flair, unconventional culinary techniques, and his unique brand of creativity.
