  • A must do!
I participated in the Heritage Tour and the Cultural Dinner and both were absolutely amazing. If you are looking to gain an understanding of the history of the UAE or Islam, bring along your questions and an open mind as the guides do their absolute best to ensure you leave with more knowledge (without pushing religion on you). The staff are incredibly welcoming and the food, so tasty.

  • Fun & Interesting
We did a tour run by the Sheikh Mohammed Centre at the Jumeirah Mosque. The concept of this company is great. They share some details of what life is like being a Muslim in Dubai, and some insight into Islamic traditions. At the mosque tour, you get to try some typical Arabic teas and dates, and there is free reading material to look through, which give some answers about What Islam is about and why certain traditions exist. We were then taken into the Mosque, where we sat and chatted about Islam, and Islamic life in Dubai. Guests are allowed to ask any question, and the staff demonstrate how to pray, and explain things like when they pray and why. The volunteers were so friendly, and when we said we liked reading books, they gave us a lot of books to take home to read for free! Although we were short on time, we saw that the centre run many other activities which looked interesting also, and we will definitely come back to visit and try the other programs after the great experience we had at the Mosque. It was very interesting, and I appreciate the volunteers putting themselves out there for us to learn more about the culture in Dubai. I learned many things that surprised me here.

  • A must to do :) if you are into learning about their culture and traditions
This is one of the memories that I most cherish for the time that I spent in Dubai. It will give you the opportunity to talk with Emiratis, and to ask questions about their culture and traditions, while you eat amazing food. I went for lunch, and everything start with dates. If you have the time, please take the advantage and enjoy the experience. The center is located in Al fahidi which have other sights in walking distance, since it is a very pintoresque part of the city. They even have Avayas in case you are wondering how you look in one. As far as I know you can choose to have dinner too, whatever you decide. I believe it is a must if you want to learn about the place and the people that you are visiting.
