Spring into the new season with stylish buys from our new favourite retailers. Whether you’re after an on-trend look that’s suited to Dubai’s summer season, want to refresh your wardrobe, or are on the hunt for a new signature scent, the first half of 2018 brings a fantastic range of stores to Dubai that are sure to suit your taste.
Scandinavian home style hits Dubai with the launch of JYSK. Pronounced ‘yusk’, the cult favourite furniture and homeware store is best known for its quality craftsmanship and striking Nordic designs, with their bedding in high demand. Snap up a hygge piece of your own from March 2018.
It’s not American, and it’s not vintage, but this cool French casual wear brand has made its own mark at The Dubai Mall. Specialising in elevated basics – think T-shirts, tanks and slim-fit tops – the newly launched store has everything stylish shoppers need to build a wardrobe of go-to staple looks this spring.
The star’s namesake shoe brand is launching its own stand-alone boutique in April 2018. Opening at a mystery location, shoppers can browse Sarah Jessica Parker’s best-selling adorned pumps and flats, inspired by the more glamourous side of New York City. All will be revealed, soon.
A homegrown concept by Emirati founders Sheikha Maytha Hasher Al Maktoum and Sheikha Wafa Hasher Al Maktoum, BEYOUboutique aims to introduce niche and little-known designers to Dubai’s style scene, with a focus on regional fashion. The atelier space offers curated pieces from upcoming designers including Nigwah, Homa Q, Dunesi, AWS and Maysson. The on-site gourmet coffee bar with specialities such as the pistachio latte is also well worth a visit.
The pre-loved fashion pop-up previously known as My Ex-Wardrobe has re-launched with a new look and a permanent location, but the same eco-friendly message. Now known as Retold, the brand has opened a new 3,000sqft space in Al Barsha. Shoppers will find a careful curation of second-hand finds ranging from high-street bargains to designer labels and vintage steals spread over two levels.
New York jeweller Daniel Koren has landed in the UAE, launching his first Dubai store in March 2018. The boutique, set in The Dubai Mall’s famous gold and fine jewellery district, showcases the brand’s Dani by Daniel Koren range. The third-gen jewellery designer’s diffusion line uses stimulated diamonds set in sterling silver to capture the same red carpet look for a wallet-friendly price, with pieces ranging from AED350 to AED20,000.
French fragrance brand Diptyque is celebrating both its 50th anniversary and the reopening of its completely refurbished boutique. The fresh look includes several immersive scent discovery experiences, with guests new to the brand encouraged to use their nose to find their favourite cologne, home fragrance or candle. Fans can also pick up one of two new scents, Tempo and Fleur de Peaux.
One of the Middle East’s biggest fashion launches for the year, The Dubai Mall’s soon to be revealed Fashion Avenue extension sees the already expansive shopping district add on an incredible 150 extra stores and boutiques and a link to the new The Address Fashion Avenue hotel. Including some major brands, not yet seen in the region and plus new flagship locations, the new launch cements The Dubai Mall’s spot as the city’s style hub.

The Bombay Shirt Company is home to a staff of master tailors, who measure new clients up for an in-store sizing profile. The launch of the long-anticipated UAE flagship by this make-up artist-turned-cosmetics maven has the city’s fashionistas waiting with bated breath. Charlotte Tilbury’s first Dubai boutique is scheduled to open by summer 2018, and is expected to host plenty of in-store events encouraging customers to try her range of award-winning lipsticks, foundations, eye palettes and more first-hand.
